U16s vs Ise Lodge

This away fixture last season saw us lose convincingly 10-1, but in football a year is a long time. We knew we were up against it, but with the new recruits and a new formation we knew we could give the team that has only ever lost once in 3 seasons a good honest battle. And so it proved. We came in at half time 0-0, but could have been coming in 2 or 3 up as we hit the bar, and their keeper made two great saves, whilst they never troubled our goal. We were winning the battle. The second half saw much of the same, with Ise having slightly more of the possession, and their pressure told with about 15 minutes to go, one clear cut chance, one goal. The players came off of the pitch dejected, not because we lost the game, but because they knew we could and should have won it. If we put in performances like that one, week in week out, we will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. Despite a 1-0 defeat, this was by far the best performance of our season so far. Well done boys.
